When you buy hosting, you need to make sure that you are getting value for money. Price IS important, but there are two other criteria that are critical when choosing a web host. Uptime - The percentage of time that your site remains live online. Frequent downtime (time when your website is not available online) is extremely annoying at a minimum and can be very costly if your website produces an income. A few dollars a month saved on hosting costs can quickly evaporate if your website isn’t available to your customers. Support - If you have a problem, does your host offer fast and effective support? Many webhosts now offer live support who can provide basic level help and escalate the issue if neccessary. Phone support may also be important to you, in which case check your webhosts’ time zone and support hours. The most basic level of support is help desk ticket or email only. The majority of web hosting companies offer similar, standard features and differentiate themselves by price, support offered, reputation, and extra features. With over four years experience of using numerous web hosts - the one that I always come back to, and 100% recommend is Hostgator |
